UFO - Unindustrial Functional Objects
Paris, 2024

This collection is called UFO,  interpreted here as Unindustrial Functional Object. It is a series of luminaires designed using acorns harvested from oak trees, treated in the same way as semi-industrial products like profiles or leds.

By referencing the universe of science fiction, which aims to deliver hypothetical visions of the future, I use design to propose a more convivial imaginary for producing everyday objects—one rooted in a balance between technique and culture, or what I more specifically call: "the system versus the wild."

The symbolism of the project lies in demonstrating that these objects can be produced in series, but cannot be industrialized, because they are partly composed of raw natural resources. And this is where technological progress finds its true meaning: when it is used to enhance the living world, outside the industrial capitalist logic that excludes anything non-standard and imposes an uncontrollable temporal rhythm.
